WW - Universal Genève Aero-Compax chronograph, ref 22290, manual wind, 35mm x 41mm to lug tips, 17mm lug width, original stainless steel screw back case with oversized fancy lugs and round pump pushers, second crown at 9 for memento time, black leather strap, original silvered dial with luminous painted Arabic numerals, and tachymeter scale along perimeter in blue, four inset subregisters for minute recording, hour recording, subsidiary seconds and memento time, 17J cal 281, s#1073602, triple signed. An unusual watch with an interesting complication not seen regularly; the second crown allows you to set a second time to record an event such as the start of a movie or dinner; this dial does not move and is only to keep track of a static time.
CONDITION:
Mvt: Running, chronograph functions and resets properly however the sweep-second resets 1/5th of a second after 0 (a quick fix for a watchmaker), excellent cosmetic mvt condition overall, light oxide to steelwork, very light fine scratches to plates; fine-plus dial with even surface spotting and several surface scratches as well as wear to dial perimeter; excellent blued steel sword hands show light spotting; unpolished case shows light wear, light dings on the lug tops as well as on the case back from improper use of a case wrench; original memento crown and replacement winding crown show light wear, small ding on edge of memento crown; good plastic crystal.
